2012 Round of NMTC Allocation Awards in April

The CDFI Fund gave word today that they will make the 2012 Round of NMTC Allocation Awards in April. In case you missed it, below is their short release: New Markets Tax Credit Program Update This morning President Obama signed the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 which included an extension of the New Markets Tax Credit Program for 2012 and 2013. The tax credit allocation authority is $3.5 billion for each year. The CDFI Fund is currently reviewing applications received under the 2012 round and plans to announce the awards in April.

Senator Hatch (R-UT) Announces New Lineup of Republican Members of Senate Finance Committee

Today Senator Orrin Hatch (UT), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, announced the new Republican composition of the Committee for the 113th Congress. New additions to the committee are Senators Johnny Isakson (GA), Rob Portman (OH), and Pat Toomey (PA). In a surprise move, Senator Tom Coburn (OK) has left the Finance Committee for a slot on Banking. Senator Coburn has been a critic of the New Markets Tax Credit in the past.
