The New Market Tax Credit Program is a powerful incentive designed to encourage private investment into areas that have been deemed as qualified census tracts by the Federal government. Throughout the life of the NMTC Program, the Department of Treasury, through the CDFI Fund, has made 396 awards totaling $21 billion in allocation authority. These allocations have financed a variety of projects which have positively impacted low income communities.
